Moving to Cyprus

There has been an increase in people moving to Cyprus over the last four years as more and more British families choose to live on the island. Pickfords has weekly departures to Cyprus. Popular destinations include Limassol, Paphos and Larnaca.

What services are available when moving to Cyprus?

If you are moving to Cyprus your goods will be transported by sea. Pickfords offers a range of removal services and will pack your goods for export in a shipping container.

Our services include:

Full Container Load

Your household effects are packed at your home and loaded into a 20ft or 40ft container and transported directly to the docks to await the next scheduled sailing. Pickfords will confirm the arrival date at port and will liaise with you for delivery and unpacking once your effects are cleared through customs.

Shared Load

Your effects are packed at your home on an agreed date and transferred to our international warehouse ready to be consolidated into a shipping container with other customers moving to Cyprus. We will confirm the date of arrival and will arrange for our Allied agent in Cyprus to liaise with you to clear your goods through customs. This 'groupage' service is a more cost effective service than Full Container Load as you only pay for the space you use.

What happens with customs clearance?

Cyprus is outside of the EU, so customs regulations apply for UK nationals. Our Allied agent in Cyprus will provide assistance through the customs clearance process and, once completed, will carry out final delivery and unpacking at your new home.

What should I be aware of when moving to Cyprus?

Think about your delivery early in the move process

It is worth noting the access to your new property and discussing this at length at your survey. Some properties are difficult to reach or may have parking restrictions. Access difficulties can pose problems when unloading at your new home. Pickfords, through its European network has access to specialist equipment, which includes shuttle vehicles and hoists to ensure your delivery will be handled smoothly.

Storage in Cyprus

You may not have access to your new property straight away. In these circumstances we can arrange to store your goods in a secure warehouse in Cyprus. Your Move Co-ordinator can arrange this for you.

What is Replacement as New Insurance?

For your peace of mind, Pickfords offers Replacement as New Insurance.
This means that in the event of an insurance claim, your items will be replaced or repaired.

I am based in Cyprus and want to move back to the UK. What should I do?

Pickfords offers a return loads service from Cyprus to the UK and Ireland.
