What happens when emigrating to New Zealand from the UK?
When your goods are packed and forwarded from the UK and Eire, your Move
Coordinator will forward your paperwork to Allied Pickfords New Zealand who
will send you the Customs forms for completion and, on return (with appropriate
supporting documents) will arrange Customs and MAF (quarantine) clearance and
delivery to your new home.
Transit Times when moving to New Zealand
When emigrating to New Zealand your household effects,
will be secured in a large metal containers and carried on a container ship.
Transit times are dependent on the type of service that has been chosen.

What you need to know about NZ Customs when emigrating to New Zealand
Importation of used personal and household effects on a duty free basis is
dependent on your status on arrival into New Zealand (ie the type of visa you
hold).

New Zealand Quarantine Inspections
MAF Biosecurity New Zealand is the merger between Biosecurity New Zealand and
MAF Quarantine Services and is the division of the Ministry of Agriculture and
Forestry (MAF). It also leads New Zealand's bio security efforts which cover;
Economic, Environmental, Social and cultural and international trade and animal
welfare responsibilities.
It encompasses facilitating international trade, protecting the health of New
Zealanders and ensuring the welfare of the environment, flora and fauna, marine
life and Maori resources. They manage risk prior to and at the border,
including import and export trade inspection and official assurances.
Most larger consignments of household effects will contain some items that
require inspection by
the MAF when emigrating to New Zealand.
