What is included in the service when moving to Portugal?
If you choose Pickfords when moving to Portugal,
we will:

Visit you at home to survey the goods that you plan to take with you

Wrap and pack your items with packing materials designed to provide maximum
protection

Transport your goods to your new residence and unload, unpack and clear away
the packing materials
There are different services available, your move consultant should create a
move plan designed to meet your specific needs. Our
moving
services include:
Direct Load
We pack your items at your home and load them directly onto a European road
vehicle, which will transport your goods to your new home in Portugal. This
service is recommended if it is important that your goods are delivered on a
particular date. With a direct load service, you can specify your delivery
date.
Part Load
Your goods will be consolidated with other Pickfords customers
moving to Portugal. The period of
consolidation means that this service takes a little longer than a Direct Load.
At the start of the move a delivery window is agreed. We will advise you of the
scheduled delivery date when it is known. Part load is a more cost effective
service than direct load and is recommended for people with flexible delivery
dates.
What will happen if I cannot take delivery straight away?
Pickfords provides a professional storage service both in the UK and
Portugal.
Your move co-ordinator will arrange to place your goods in store until you are
ready to arrange delivery to your new property.
Will I need any insurance when moving to Portugal?
For your peace of mind, we recommend Replacement as New Insurance. In the event
of an insurance claim, Pickfords will replace or repair your items.
Can Pickfords arrange to move me back to the UK?
Pickfords offers a return loads service from
Portugal to the
UK and Ireland.
