Pickfords has a number of options for people wishing to move to Turkey:

Full Container Load

If you are planning to move to Turkey, Pickfords will pack your belongings at your home before loading them directly onto a 20ft or 40ft container and transporting the items to the docks for the next scheduled sailing. We will contact you to confirm the arrival date in Turkey. Our Allied agent in Turkey will liaise with you to arrange delivery to your new home.

This service is ideal if you are planning to take a full house as this direct service has the shortest transit time.

Shared Load

Shared Load is a more cost effective service than Full Container Load and is advantageous for people with flexible delivery. Pickfords will agree a date to pack your items at your home and place them in our warehouse for onward transport to your new home. A shared load is an ideal service if you are planning to take a part house. You will be sharing the space and the cost of the container with other Pickfords customers moving to Turkey.

What should I consider when moving to Turkey?

Think about customs

Turkey is outside of the EU so customs regulations apply for UK nationals. Our local Allied agent in Turkey will provide local assistance through the customs clearance process and, once completed, will deliver and unpack your consignment at your new home.

Think about access to your new home

Narrow roads, parking restrictions or high-rise apartment blocks can be problematic when unloading household effects in Turkey. Through our European network, Pickfords can overcome these local issues by providing specialist equipment to ensure the safe delivery of your belongings.

I need to store my goods in Turkey - can you help?

Pickfords provides a professional storage service both in the UK and in Turkey. We can deliver your goods to our local Allied agent's storage facility. Your goods can remain in-store until you are ready to take delivery. This is a convenient service if there is a delay and you are unable to move into your new home straight away. Your Move-Co-ordinator can arrange this service for you.
